Court Says Being Homeless is Not a Crime
On October 27, a ruling by the Georgia Supreme Court relieved some homeless people of a serious problem. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the court declared that the provision of the sex-offender registry law that has been criticized for making homelessness a crime is unconstitutional. Felony Conviction may Lead to Senator’s Resignation
As of November 6, 2008, convicted felon Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska still has a narrow lead in his bid to win an eighth term in office. Stevens is reportedly ahead of democratic challenger Mark Begich by approximately 3,500 votes.
However, the final results of the election will not be known until mid to late November because there are still 55,000 absentee and 9,000 early ballots that still must be counted. Read the full article.

As of November 6, it will be even riskier business for prostitutes and illegal escort services who regularly advertise on the popular Internet ad site, Craigslist. The site has reached an agreement with law enforcement officials in 40 states to crack down on ads for illegal prostitution services and other ads connected with crime. Read on.
