Accidental Theft of Duck has Internet Community Buzzing
Back in April, a woman in Pennsylvania inadvertantly walked out of The Gap with a toy duck she hadn’t paid for. It might seem a simple issue at the outset. The legal and ethical options, of course, are to pay for the duck or return the duck. Many people, however, might choose simply to keep the duck. The one thing that most of us would never have anticipated is that the duck would rise to fame and fortune (well, at least fame), as bloggers everywhere took heartfelt, strident, and sometimes downright hostile positions on whether the duck should be returned.
The issue has spiralled so far out of control that Blog Talk Radio will be hosting a program this evening, and the ducknapper has an attorney “appearing” with her to offer her position.
