Illegal British National Arrested After Announcing Himself in California Newspaper
A British national was arrested after he told a Orange County, California newspaper that he was lucky to have escaped the notice of immigration officials despite a drug conviction. Calvin Alexander Lee now faces deportation.
Lee was quoted by the newspaper, last month, in an article about legal U.S. residents being deported as a result of new immigration-screening measures. He told the newspaper he had been jailed five years ago on felony drug charges. Such offenses are cause for deportation.
Lee will, at least, will be getting a free plane ticket home.
